2018 Dagudscht
A true Wiener Gemischter Satz field blend of eight grape varietals including Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Muscat, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Chenin Blanc and Rotgipfler. Fragrant, delicious dry wine perfect for any wine drinking time. Proper way to pronounce the name is Da•good•sh*t as described by wine expert Jerry Stutzman while seeking to have winemaker Robert share a tank tasting during a visit to the winery.
Production notes
The 2018 vintage is our third time around making this unusual but spectacular wine. The recipe calls for one bin (1000 lbs) of the eight grapes that we grow - seven white grapes and pinot noir. The equal parts are crushed and destemmed and soaked on the skins for 4 hours in stainless steel bins. Pressed and co-fermented in stainless steel tank.
